With DROPS, designer Sebastian Herkner presents his fourth collection for M2 Rugs—a thoughtful evolution of Sustainettle. Inspired by the rainfall in the Himalayan foothills that nourishes the wild nettle plant, the collection celebrates the element that brings this raw material to life.

Crafted entirely from pure Himalayan nettle, DROPS is 100% plant-based and defined by a striking contrast in texture. The collection combines two hand-knotting techniques to create its signature structure:

• The Background: Hand-knotted using the ancient Nepalese Khabley technique to form a flat, subtle foundation.

• The Drops: Knotting in a higher pile, allowing the drop-like forms to rise three-dimensionally from the surface.

This interplay gives the impression of raindrops gently resting on a natural background. Pure, highly tactile, and rooted in traditional Nepalese craftsmanship, DROPS brings an understated, organic presence to modern interiors.
